Spanish Department

The Spanish Program is a four year course that prepares you for the real world. Students practice the language at their different levels and are steadily pushed for betterment by their teachers. 

We use the textbook and work book Español para la Vida. This text book offers different activities where they are given different opportunities to practice their language skills in listening and reading comprehension; and oral and written _expression. By the end of fourth form their language skills have improved vastly and they can manage a conversation and/or correspondence with, and be understood by a native speaker. 

All along there are presentations, both in the classroom as well as at form level. These presentations are usually on the cultural aspect of the language being studied for language is not just the written or spoken word but also the customs and beliefs that are found in day to day living. 

As part of the program there is a Tarde de Variedades where the seniors present their skills for the school population on themes ranging from satires on the political scenes to comedies of their own inventions to the cultural aspects of the language studied.
