Religion Department

Religion is a core subject at Pallotti High School whereby a student must pass.  Its philosophy is guided by Saint Vincent Pallotti's motto, "The Charity of Christ Impels Us."

The school's religious program includes various aspects of a student's spiritual development:

1. monthly first Friday mass.
2. community service project.
3. adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
4. praying the rosary in October and May to honor Mary.
5. Students attending Charismatic Convention.
6. Participation in Guadalupe procession and March for Jesus.

The objectives of the department aim at enabling students to:

1. recognize where they stand in relation to self, others and God.
2. recognize that love for God is expressed by loving others.
3. learn what the ten commandments say and what they mean in their lives.
4. see the need for reconciliation in their relationships.
5. appreciate Jesus as one who forgave people.
6. develop the desire to forgive other people.

The students are expected to use their respective text book depending on the form they are in along with the following:

1. New American Bible, Catholic Book Publishing Company.
2. The New St. Joseph Baltimore Catechism.
3. The Way of the Cross.
4. Life of St. Vincent Pallotti.
5. Marian Booklet.
6. St. Vincent Pallotti Booklet.
7. Christian Herald.
8. PHS Hymnal

 The evaluation/grading policy incorporates

1. class participation.
2. homework.
3. quizzes.
4. tests.
5. exam.
6. projects.
7. presentations.
8. journals.
9. service projects.
10. mass attendance.
